Event Details

On Saturday, October 14, the Athol Public Library and Hero Shack Press are teaming up for the return of Comic Book Fest. The Athol Town Hall and library will be transformed into a comic book lover’s dream. With comics, artist panels, vendors, cosplay, games, crafts, and more there will be something for everyone at this family friendly event.

After a successful first year, the team has been working on bringing in new artists, vendors, community partners, and activities to the festival style event.

This year 18 amazing artists will be showing their work. During the festival there will also be special panels, demonstrations, and events. Heroes in training can take on a special obstacle, and gear up by designing their own masks, capes, and accessories in the “Hero Zone.” His and Hers Comics will be selling pop culture items including mainstream comics while the Friends of the Athol Public Library will be selling gently used books at the library. Guests of all ages can show off their costumes and handiwork during the afternoon’s all ages cosplay contest. A full schedule of events will be available on the library’s website and social media pages prior to the event.

Like last year, as you participate in the activities and visit the various artists, visitors will have the opportunity to earn tickets that they can enter into raffles for signed prints, card games, collectables, and more.

The Comic Book Fest will take place at the Athol Town Hall, 584 Main Street, and next door at the Athol Public Library on Saturday, October 14. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by and enjoy the festivities from 10am to 3pm. Admission and activities are free and open to all ages.

Funded in part by a grant from the Athol Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency and the Friends of the Athol public Library.
