Story Time
Join River for Story Time! We'll read books, sing songs, watch a short movie, and make a craft! Story Time is best for children ages 3 - 5, but any child who can enjoy a picture book will enjoy Story Time.
Want to know what to expect? Check out our Story Time page on YouTube
The benefits of Story Time are limitless! Participating regularly in Story Time teaches children social skills, like how to listen, sit still, and be part of a group. It encourages early literacy by spending time reading and getting excited about books! Even singing songs together help develop phonological awareness (the ability to recognize and work with sounds in spoken language).

ATAC
Want to be more involved in the library? Teens ages 12-18 are invited to apply to join ATAC: the Athol Teen Advisory Council! Teens who are interested in participating can pick up an application in the Teen Space.
ATAC meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, unless there is a conflicting holiday, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the library. During Meetings Teens: - help plan teen programs like scavenger hunts or mini carnivals
- support community projects such as the local scarf bombing
- talk with other teens and make new friends
- talk about what they have been reading and help pick out new books
- voice their opinions on what is happening at the library
- earn volunteer hours
If you are interested speak with Emily in the Teen Space to find out more about how to join.
