Event Details

Join us for an uplifting evening of music with International Singer Songwriters Association Boston/Northeast Chapter singer songwriters Ronald Carlson, Joanna Katzen and Linda Marks sharing music in the round.  Western MA Poet's Seat Laureate Candace Curran will open the show with her poetry.

Ron Carlson is a performing singer/songwriter from Worcester MA, with a strong traditional folk vibe. A former folk music programmer on WCUW 91.3 FM, he has been performing traditional and original songs with various bands and as a solo artist for over four decades.  His two CDs, The Songs We Sang Together and The Procrastinator are streaming on all major platforms.

Joanna Katzen is a performing singer-songwriter and music teacher based right here in Athol! She's lived and performed overseas, in California, and New England. Joanna holds a degree from the Berklee College of Music, graduating summa cum laude. She is the recipient of the Walter W. Harp Liberal Arts, Music & Society Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research, Civic Engagement & Performance Relating to Music and Society.

While her powerful social impact songs anchor her in the world of Folk music, multi-award winning Boston-based singer-songwriter Linda Marks is a multi-genre artist who also integrates elements of Jazz, Pop, Broadway, Gospel and Latin styles in an intimate heart-to-heart style of songwriting and performing.  Often compared to Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones, Linda’s 16th studio album Queen of the Angels was just released 3/6/26. She is a voting member of the Recording Academy.

Candace R. Curran was raised alongside Wachusett Mountain in rural Princeton, MA, by a coyote and Ford mechanic doing the best they could. Publications include, Bone Cages and Playing in Wrecks, Haleys Press. She is the Elyse Wolf prize winner for The Sound of Her Good Name, Slate Roof Press, published in 2025. Candace is co-founder of INTERFACE I-I0 and Exploded View, collaborative word and image poetry and art performance groups. Her work can be found in journals, Meat for Tea, Silkworm, RAW NerVZ Haiku, and others.

Free and open to the public. Please register.
