What can DNA really tell you about your ancestry?
DNA testing can be a powerful complement to traditional genealogy research, offering insights that may be impossible to obtain from birth certificates, census records, or other documents.
How do DNA tests work? Which tests are reputable? How to interpret the results? Are there any drawbacks to having your DNA examined?
Philip Johnson is the genealogist for the Pomeroy chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the assistant state genealogist for Massachusetts Chapter, and has been researching for about 30 years. He has led workshops locally in New Salem and Erving.
